Translate mission needs and competition rules into engineering requirements.
+THIS IS BANU MOUSA
We are a student rover team at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia. Different disciplines, brought together by the same curiosity.
+LEARNING BY BUILDING
Our project brings mechanical design, power systems, embedded control and software together. We are working toward a rover that can traverse challenging terrain, manipulate objects and perform selected tasks with autonomous operation.
We organise our work around a shared rover design. Each engineering committee develops its subsystem, while system integration coordinates the interfaces, requirements and verification needed to bring the rover together.
Our work is currently focused on design review, component selection and integration planning. We treat fabrication and testing as the next steps in proving the design.
The committees behind it+01 / OUR APPROACH
Each stage turns an idea into something the whole team can examine, improve and eventually test.
Translate mission needs and competition rules into engineering requirements.
Develop and review the mechanical, electrical and software architecture together.
Plan fabrication and connect subsystems through staged checks.
Test requirements and document evidence before mission trials.
+THE NEXT HORIZON
The Australian Rover Challenge brings student teams together to develop rovers for simulated exploration tasks. We are preparing around Post-Landing, Site Preparation, and Excavation & Autonomy. These are intended task areas, subject to team readiness and competition review.
